Dacia Duster SUV / AWD 4x4

  Dacia´s second 4×4 model in its history. His name is Duster and is proposing for European public a SUV with affordable price, Nissan four-wheel drive and Renault engines. At first glance, Dacia Duster is clearly a 4x4. Its front end exudes a sense of ruggedness, with its imposing chrome grille and sump guard also pointing to its clear 4x4 credentials. The first "original" Duster 4x4 was launched in 1979 after collaboration between ARO and Dacia. Although the public would have liked, series model does not take too many lines from the concept design of Dacia Duster, introduced last year in Geneva. Dacia Duster SUV proposes a more robust aspect, a completely redesigned front, a chrome grille and a massive spoiler. Profile is defined by a higher ground clearance than the models we had been used by Dacia and plastic protection elements. The new dashboard has been thought through to be both modern and functional, while there is also the opportunity to combine different colours and surface finishes in several areas.

 

  Dacia claims that, though the five-seat Duster will be priced comparable with a city car, its exterior and interior dimensions are closer to those of a compact car from the segment above. Interior space matches the sister Dacia Logan, MCV or Sandero model. The new owner of Duster SUV will have to choose only three metallic colours: Platin Gray, Gray Comet and Red Fire. Besides the colours he design will be improved with 15 inch aluminium rims, chrome exhaust tailpipe, headlights mask and chrome grille trim. The best sold models were the compact SUVs, with starting prices of about EUR 20,000, such as Hyundai Tucson, Ford Kuga, Hyundai iX55, Mazda CX-7, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Koleos, Skoda Yeti, Suzuki Vitara, Kia Sorento, Opel Antara, Hyundai Tucson, Fiat Sedici, Nissan X-Trail, Toyota RAV 4 or Volkswagen Tiguan.

 

The the five-seater Dacia Duster is economical both to buy and to run and will be manufactured in 4×2 and 4×4 versions. The 4×2 emits less than 140 g/km CO2 while the 4×4 version is similarly impressive at just below 150 g/km. Duster s boot capacity is unbeatable, too, with a volume of up to 475dm3 ISO. With the rear benchseat folded and tipped forward, its impressive carrying ability can even exceed 1,600dm3 ISO. Depending of the version the customers will choose, the car weight will change, the 2WD will weight 1.180 kg, less the Four-wheel drive 1.280 kg. The Duster has a take off of attack of 30 degrees and 35 degrees out. The trunk has a capacity of 475 liters and can be expandable to 1,600 liters.

 

  This is the sixth model from the Romanian car maker, after Sandero, Logan, Logan MCV, Logan VAN and Logan Pick-Up. The maximum production capacity of Dacia Duster is 165,000 units in Mioveni- Romania. Recently the CEO of Renault- Nissan Ghosn has in mind the arrival of Dacia Duster the U.S. market. Now for Romanian firm part of French group Renault, it is just a dream, but in the future the Duster could ever make.
